When you update the drivers for the ATI graphics card on Windows 7 to restart the PC, sometimes it nor the Catalyst Control Center by selecting it from the context menu of the desktop (or from the Control Panel) and listed its icon in the tray opens notifications taskbar. In principle can occur because remnants of the previous installation that conflict with the new driver. If you have successfully uninstalled the above, nothing would happen, but not always the installer works as it should, or may have had an error, etc. . There is a program, Driver Sweeper, saying clear until the last stronghold of the drivers installed and avoid problems like this, but neither my nor many people have worked for us, so this entry Another more manual solution is as follows:

  1. Uninstall everything related to ATI / AMD you have installed (just in case). Restart.
  2. Open a file browser and go to the C: / Windows / assembly, click on "Command Public Key" to sort files by the alphanumeric string and locates files with the key   90ba9c70f846762e .
  3. Keep this window open and go to the Start Menu. Write in the search box: cmd.exe and appear above. Do not give Intro, dale right-click -> Run as administrator. (For Linux users: just open a root shell in Windows, it's that easy careful what you do with it.).
  4. In the console, we appear by default in the C: / Windows / system32. If we write cd ../assembly shall appear directly on our portfolio.
  5. Now we delete all files that we saw earlier with that key I put, we must do it from the console because you can not directly from the browser. To do this we write: the / S [filename]
  6. Since many, we can shorten the process. Many of them start with CLI, such as to remove at once can use the command of / S * CLI  using the asterisk as a wildcard. Careful not to delete any file that has the key  90ba9c70f846762e .
  7. We can reboot to be sure, but not necessary. Now install the latest driver from AMD / ATI lowered its website (now I ask you to restart) and since we run smoothly.

A little more detailed than what explanation we're doing:

The folder C: / Windows / assembly is used to store the Global Assembly Cache  is basically a database of small libraries used by many programs, in which version information is stored program, safety issues, digital signature from ... installed it is precisely the latter which in our case means 90ba9c70f846762e this code because it identifies the company AMD. Therefore, any file in the folder with that code be part of a company, typically the drivers for the graphics card. It is relatively common for a program does not work properly if you do not have the data well in their assembly files, and so can cause errors like this at hand, the program may not start. It may have occurred to update drivers and, for some reason, it has preserved assemblies of the previous version, which is probably the cause of the whole mess. IMPORTANT:  If you have a question, look first below in the comments answered before writing yours. Many questions are already answered. Thank you.
