The application to manage contacts database that brings samsung s4 is as if he had corrupted.
Now occupies more than 4 GB.
I do not know why.
It has cornered the device memory.
I can not access see the contact tab because I get so eternal legend:
Updating contact list.
Plus there is almost no space in system memory or system storage.
I tried to disable the application, but still maintains the gigas.

What I can do?

Thank You

I have two thousand contacts to preserve.

Hello  When you say you have 2000 contacts, Did I understand correctly ?.
That is, they are unique contacts or have duplicate or triplicate and why you take so much memory.
I in your case if you have them stored in your Google account instead of disabling the application data erase it.
But before you go to google contacs and verifies there as you have the contacts, if they are not duplicated or more and ultimately finds that that list of contacts is what you want.
If correct, clear data from the app contacts and contact storage and lets you synchronize your phone with google and hopefully fix it so.
In case if you go back before leaving do it: settings .... export contacts to sd for example.
It ensures good thing not to lose.

Hello, to make a backup of your contacts go to Settings> Accounts> Google> here you you click on your Google Account you use typically> touch on "Contacts" and you a circular with two arrows rotating icon appears, once finished turning and removes the icon, you'll see that "last sync said at ...... (time and date) and ready.
And another thing, you say that you appear "updating the list of contacts," Maybe it's the 2000 contacts, Proba this: lets you load or refresh the list ...
Another (and do not think that has to do) Clean Master ProBa to download and click on "junk files" and see what takes these 4GB (cache, some rare archive ...).
If it did not work any of the above stores all your data, contacts, important things and restore it to factory settings (you have left your phone as if you had purchased recently).
If not ... I have no idea that it may be ...
I hope your problem is solved
