Click "Start" and select "Run." Or, if you are using Windows 7, hold down the Windows key and then press "R".
Type "services.msc" (without the quotation marks) and then click "OK".
Double-click "Microsoft Protection Service" from the list of services displayed.
"Automatic" under "Startup type" if it is not selected.
