hello
have  a good time trying to sync contacts (phonebook Mac) and iCal events on iPhone 5S and no way.
I previously had an iPhone 4 and just had to get me out on iTunes and an option to synchronize contacts, calendars, etc. ...
Now, it is not ... Any idea?
So far I have been reluctant to upload stuff to the cloud and less personal data such as contacts. Are now required to have iCloud so that we synchronize contacts between Mac and iPhone? can not do the old way?

The information tab has disappeared in the latest version of itunes but only Mavericks, it no longer allows local synchronization, only through iCloud

quote
Note: These instructions are only if you are using OS X v.10.8.5 or earlier. If you use OS X v.10.9 or later Mavericks, contacts, calendars, and other information will be updated on their computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see Help iCloud at icloud.com.

I do not know what will be for the reasons that have made this decision, because they left out all those versions of iOS devices where you can not sync with iCloud, and of course those who do not want to use iCloud to sync contacts, calendars .. .

Anyway I've already made an iCloud account. Let's see how it goes.
Since I am a little reluctant to post stuff to the cloud.
