One of the most common problems that can affect Windows is the loss of sound.

If we can not detect the cause, fix it will not be easy, because the reasons you can not hear the sound of our PC can be many and varied. So then I present a guide to some methods that may help to troubleshoot sound problems in Windows 8.

If our team no sound, the first thing we can do to rule out if this is a problem we are running the application is trying to generate sound from three different sources.

For example, if the problem is we try to play songs and we can not hear, can try to play a video on Youtube, insert a video DVD and play your content and access a streaming music service like Grooveshark. In each case we must check whether the mute button is not activated. If any source emits sound, then we know that this is a problem of implementation.

If we can not, try other methods.

Sometimes the solution is so simple it took to discover it. If our team does not emit sounds, something we should not avoid doing is to review the Windows volume settings and verify that none of the controls of the mixer is on low volume or mute. We must also go to the options volume control and check that box "All sound emitting devices" is enabled.

If this did not solve the problem, the following to do is verify if not a hardware failure. To do this we will test the speakers on another computer to determine if they emit sounds. If the speakers are connected to the computer, as in the case of laptops, whether the fault is hardware may be more complicated.

Another way to solve the problem is to verify if there are no conflicts with the device driver. To do this, go to Device Manager (Control Panel - System and Security - System), expand the entry for the sound, right click on this and chose Properties.

The "Driver" tab displays information about the audio driver installed, can try to update it, or download it from the official website of our device and reinstall. If you want to reinstall the driver that suggests the system, we can uninstall your current driver, right click on the item in Device Manager and choose "Search for hardware changes".
If none of the above methods work, do not worry because there are still others to try, of which I will discuss shortly.
