One of the things that bothered me most is that when I upgraded Lion system control panel disappeared certain services that had covered some automated tasks on Snow Leopard.

All managing my backups revolves around an ftp server that comes with the operating system, but does not appear anywhere have not out of the way with the update, so as soon as I updated the iMac, I first thing I did was get on the console to activate the service, if it had already set is exactly as it was.

To activate it, all you have to write is:

sudo-s
launchctl load-w / System / Library / LaunchDaemons / ftp.plist

and to disable it:

sudo-s
launchctl unload-w / System / Library / LaunchDaemons / ftp.plist

It's a truism but I say, once the service on or off, the window closes, the computer restarts or do anything, the situation does not change, the service freezes have left.

I hope you have been helpful.

The dissapearance of several Services in Control Panel after upgrading to Lion, is one of the most annoying aspects of it. Furthermore, where involved in. Because These automatic Un certain tasks in Snow Leopard.

The FTP server by default (included in Lion and Snow Leopard) deals with my security backups. So, I tryed to activate as soon as That service was completely updated my iMac. That I must say if you had set it up with previously its configuration Remains The Same.

Use this command to enable the FTP server:

sudo-s
launchctl load-w / System / Library / LaunchDaemons / ftp.plist

And this one to disable it:

sudo-s
launchctl unload-w / System / Library / LaunchDaemons / ftp.plist

The service state will REMAIN as we set it up (enabled or disabled), even after rebooting or whatever.

I hope it helps.
