Hide apps

Although you may not be able to uninstall some preloaded apps, yes you can hide and disable them. This will hide the menu of the application and no updates are made.

To hide or disable preloaded applications, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Tap the More tab
  4. Click Application Manager.

If necessary , swipe left or right to the appropriate screen:

  1. discharged
  2. running
  3. all

Tap the desired application.

Note: If desired, tap the Menu key and then press Show Sort by name or size to change the order in which applications appear.

Click Disable and then press OK.

Show applications

To show or enable the preloaded apps you've hidden, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key .
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Tap the More tab
  4. Click Application Manager.

If necessary, swipe left or right to the appropriate screen:

  1. discharged
  2. running
  3. all

Tap the desired application.

Note: if you want alphabetically, are hidden applications at the end of the list instead of being in order.

Click Enable and then OK .

I have the same problem
commented Jun 5, 2015 by Angry S4 User

I think when I updated my phone, they changed that setting, because I use to be able to hide apps by clicking the app icon then pressing the menu button and now I can't since the recent update. This is bogus. Smh

This worked great for me because I couldn't find my sms message app not knowing that it was mistakenly disabled. After I use these steps i was able to retrieve it.
