What is APN?
The Access Point Names help cell phones to communicate with General Packet Radio Service, or GPRS (for its acronym in English), the technology that drives the 2G and 3G cellular communications worldwide. The APN identifies a network with Internet protocol, or IP (for its acronym in English), to which a mobile device can connect. A public APN allows access to mobile Internet, while a private APN facilitates access to closed networks and intranets of a company.
The APN errors appear as different messages such as "APN configuration error", "Connection Error", "incorrect APN settings" or "Invalid APN", along the different models of mobile phones. These errors, which prevent access to the Internet, mean that the current APN settings of the phone is different from that required the provider or device.
