What is APN?
The Access Point Names help cell phones to communicate with General Packet Radio Service, or GPRS (for its acronym in English), the technology that drives the 2G and 3G cellular communications worldwide. The APN identifies a network with Internet protocol, or IP (for its acronym in English), to which a mobile device can connect. A public APN allows access to mobile Internet, while a private APN facilitates access to closed networks and intranets of a company.

The APN errors appear as different messages such as "APN configuration error", "Connection Error", "incorrect APN settings" or "Invalid APN", along the different models of mobile phones. These errors, which prevent access to the Internet, mean that the current APN settings of the phone is different from that required the provider or device. Like most SIM cards are preset with the service provider's APN, change SIM cards can cause errors APN. In rare cases, mobile phone providers may change your APN, which can also cause errors in the phone APN using APN settings obsolete.

Most mobile service providers use a handful of APN configurations, depending on the device. Providers APN settings updated irregularly. Similarly, work with different phones different APN settings even compatible phones with the same provider. If you change your settings does not fix your mistake APN, contact your service provider for further assistance.
