You may not know that thanks to the integrated Photos app on the Windows 11 operating system, you can cut videos in order to keep only the parts that interest you. By continuing to read this new article, you will find out how to perform this simple video editing task on your computer.

Trim your videos with the Windows 11 Photos app

If you don't want to spend money on editing software , you can cut your videos with  the Photos app , already included with Windows 11 , quickly and easily, simply by selecting the parts that interest you and clicking on a few buttons.

To start the video editing process, you simply need to open File Explorer on your PC and locate the video you want to crop.

At this point, right-click on the video and select the Open with > Photos option from the menu that opens on the screen.

The “Cut Video” screen will open, from where you can select the start and end point of the part of the video to be cut. Drag the sliders you see at the bottom of the screen to cover the part of the video you want to keep. Remember that anything that is left outside the sliders you set will be cut and then deleted from the video.

Once you have selected the portion of the video you want to keep, simply click on the “Save As” button located in the upper right corner of the screen.

In the “Save as” window, choose the folder where you want to save the cropped video file, click on the “File name” field and type a name for your edited video file, then click with the mouse on the “Save” button.

At the end of the saving process, you will find the cropped video file, as set by you, in the chosen folder.

NB:  The Photos app will create a new cropped video file, so the original video will remain intact.

Easy, right? Thanks to the Windows Photos app, to do these simple jobs on movies and videos in general, you no longer have to buy any expensive software.
