Given the high number of questions about meaning codes Samsung firmware , if this ROM is newer than this one, etc ... I have decided to bring you this extensive information XDA people explaining a bit what each acronym ...
If you want to know the version of your firmware , you only have to type the numbers on your keyboard :
Firmware Version : * # 1234 #
Version of S / W : * # 1111 #
Version of H / W : * # 2222 #
Now that we know our version of firmware to the previous step , we will see that we have three kinds of information.
As an example , we could have the following:
PDA: I9100XXKKA
PHONE : I9100XXKK5
CSC : I9100OXAKK9
PDA is the operating system within which are the programs and configurations.
PHONE is the modem firmware file , part of which requires direct hardware access our terminal.
CSC (consumer software Customisation ) are locales which can install additional programs on the PDA and specific configurations of operators (APN ) .

MEANING OF CODES CSC
For CSC , we can have different scenarios : between phone model and code release , no two letters, but yes 3 . A code which explains the country and operator. An example would OXA , a name used for the entire European part . Or for example XEC , a Spanish code used by the operator Movistar . Should be free, the code is FOP.
Conclusion , is not harmful to the phone using a different CSC code that is supposed to be used . But if you will, for proper operation , change anyway, it can be done using the code * # * 272 # <IMEI the phone> (if you do not know the phone's IMEI can be obtained using the code * # 06 #) , the menu of the current CSC CSC is displayed and lists to change the CSC phone .
Once listed, seek our right code , you can see it on the official list of Samsung (
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=1&t=1 ) , and check that it is in the list of CSC. If not and you are not , then the F elejiremos version ? ( for Spain is FOP), which is the sales code outdoor public (ie , without operator branded ) . But beware, if you apply a new CSC , phone is factory reset (all your settings are lost) .
I hope you have been helpful and this little document explaining all the details of our beloved SGS Firmware .
