Android, based on the powerful Linux kernel, has become one of the largest in the world in recent years, due to its versatility, simplicity and hard work by people from Google updating and improving its system. Because it has captured the vast majority of the mobile market in smartphones and tablets companies large companies such as Samsung, Motorola, LG, among others, I managed to reach a mass consumption worldwide. The key: Android, unlike IOs (Apple OS) is installed on computers from different ranges (low, medium and high) and expanding the target of those who can have the operating system. The number of applications that run daily make use of any Android device even more attractive. This is where you can really start to really enjoy the SO.

There was an Android bug

However, one advantage is that besides the applications available on Google Play (official application store) you can download applications from the Internet in apk format, then install them on your Android device. Simply selecting the apk file from your device's app installs easily. But we can find the following error: "There was a problem parsing the package" not allowing us to continue with the installation. This is a problem as there are applications that are not available from Google Play, or perhaps want to install a different version shown and the error is a major drawback.

Why the problem is difficult to generalize, since this also happens on different computers with different characteristics, thus complicating the resolution thereof. Then let some things you can try to solve the problem absolutely, remembering that none of them is 100% effective. If none of the solutions serve you, we leave an alternative so you can still install apps from apk file even though the error persists.

Possible solutions:

* First, check that the version of the application you try to install is compatible with our version of Android. Because there are several versions of Android (the latter is KitKat 4.4) make sure the issue of compatibility.

* In the event that the application is compatible, try doing a wipe. A wipe, delete the cache of applications installed on the device (only the cache, keeping applications). To do this we have to turn off the device, once you actually have to press simultaneously the following buttons: Home + Power + VolUp thus starting the Recovery of the device (the procedure may vary by model or brand of your device, check as mode enter the Recovery mode for your particular model). Once we got into Recovery mode, select Wipe Cache Partition and the ready option. When the device restarts, you will return to again ask all settings (accounts, customization, etc.) but will keep all files and applications.

* If a wipe does not work, you have to try a Factory Reset. For Factory, entered the Recovery mode again, but this time choose the Wipe Data / Factory Reset option. This option will delete all installed applications with the information. The Factory is advisable to do it two or three times.

* If you have tried each of the solutions and not get positive results, you can try the following alternative that while not solve the problem, it will allow you to install the applications you need on your device.

Alternative:

* Download from Google Play the Google Drive Device (service cloud storage) application. Now, we got the apk file all applications you want to install (this can be done from your computer or from the device, according to where you have the apk). Once finished, go to the Android device, open Google Drive, choose the apk file and start the installation without showing the error message that showed us earlier. I remind you that this does not solve the problem, because if you try to install the apk conventionally error will still appear, but at least this way we can continue installing applications. Each time you want to install a new application from a apk must repeat the procedure.
