Here I leave a guide for root almost any Nexus easily ...
I guess the ADB, fastboot and drivers so I skip that step you have installed ...
For those who do not have the drivers installed , ADB and Fastboot you follow these steps , but you can skip them ...
First we need to download the Android SDK
Android SDK | Android Developers - SDK for Windows (32 or 64 bits)
Unzip the folder you want ( I ground unzip to c: \ Android \ and that is what I will use for the tutorial)
Once we unpack the unpacked folder and run SDK Manager.exe
Here we have to install the Tools folder in the Extras folder and install Google USB Driver least
NOTE : Remember the folder where you have unzipped or do it in c: \ Android \ to continue well the tutorial, when you say c: \ Android \ in your system you have to put the path where you have unpacked .
1-Press Win + R and type cmd and press Enter. Or we click on the start button write cmd and press Enter
2-We go to the folder where you have installed the fastboot .

3-Download the new Recovery.
4-Copy the TWRP recovery 2.6.0.0 downloaded to the folder where we have the Fastboot installed.

5-We put out our Nexus S
6-Turn it on in FastBoot mode by pressing " VolUp + Power"
Once booted into the fastboot mode , we know that it has started the Fastboot mode because you will see a green android in the middle of the screen and a menu by which we can move the buttons vol + and vol . We type in the terminal we opened in step 1 , and into the folder from step 2 we type :

7-This is to unlock the bootloader , if we open the switch normally jump point 9 padlock.
Restart the bootloader telecleando :

8-reboot- bootloader fasboot
or green marking "REBOOT BOOTLOADER " is the first and press the power button.
( . . 5 seconds approx ) When we see the bootloader has restarted you type :

fastboot flash recovery TWRP - 2.6.0.0 - OpenRecovery - crespo.img
or
9-fastboot flash recovery TWRP - 2.6.0.0 - OpenRecovery - crespo.img
and run it to install the recovery .
10-After return to restart the bootloader as in step 8
11-Once restarted, with the volume keys go to where it says recovery and click on "power " or you type

12-When we will open the recovery is very intuitive ... Click on " Mount" to mount the disk on the PC and copy the cell the following file:
SuperUser -RC3
13Then hit unmount give to the house below .
14-Click on Install folder and look where we copied the SuperUser and select the downloaded zip .
15-Drag the blue dot on the bar and go.
16-Reboot System.
