I need to do a hard reset because I still have the 100% awake time after the update. I have already backed up my contacts and apps. But I would like to be able to save all my current text messages. Is there a way to do that? I hate losing all these conversations. Thanks for your help!

Download SMS back up from the market. Will back them all to a "SMS" folder it creates in your gmail. very handy. You can choose automatic back up or do it on your own.

In fact ,you can export text messages from android to your Gmail account. It is so simple, however, there’s no good reason not to do it. Thanks to Samsung Backup, a professional and easy-to-use program, you can easily transfer text messages from Android to PC all by yourself.

Nobody and no software can directly transfer messages from Android to PC, but Mobiledic Android manager can do it, it can scan all the saved data on your Android phone and backup to your computer.
