Quicktime may be damaged. Try a reinstall. Windows users should also disable the compatibility mode for quicktime.
a) Click the right mouse button to "C: \ Program Files \ QuickTime \ QuickTimePlayer.exe", choose Properties
b) Tab "Compatibility". Remove the selection that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for .."
c) Click on Apply
d) Close the properties window
