I had a problem on Friday with my samsung galaxy alpha.
Literally ... I dropped it in the toilet bowl.
I immediately picked up and the first thing I did was get the battery. I wiped as I could, but tried to turn out some very rare and colors and of course the screen does not respond.

I put it in rice throughout the weekend. I gave a little also with a hand dryer. I tried to start twice and slowly went looking better, with more sharpness.

My surprise was that last night, the phone started as usual and I think that has not affected any of its functionality. I turned it off, restart, and the phone goes perfectly. The only thing is that the humidity sensor that comes in the back, not go away.

You can give me problems later that the sensor is still on?
I thank you very much looking east.

is not to be the most knowledgeable in this particular issue, but the worst thing you can do is try to light shortly after getting wet. Theirs as you well done then is dry thoroughly, put it in rice absorbs it seems well water, and give it a couple of days. I think in the long run if it can bring problems, and do not guarantee that it will cover. Sorry to be a bit pessimistic in your case. Regards.
P.S. It would be nice if we could provide some more data forero or similar experience.

Thank you very much marta. The fact is that already took for lost ... and felt like going because I love the alpha, but then ... say that he is risen.
What strikes me is the sensor that remains red.

To me it is the first time this happens to me, and as inexperienced person, I tried to start several times, but rice ... it worked for me. :)

I wonder if the sensor, will eventually come to be white again.

Hello again. Well here I put what has happened with the alpha, to see if someone else can serve.
The phone, having gone through the toilet (it was just a nanosecond, I swear), and after having left the weekend in rice, starts well, listen well, the photos look good, saving one thing: when someone calls me or call me ... I activated the loudspeaker, but ... what could have been ... because they just give the speaker, and it is set to "normal" mode.

I was told in Phone House that ultimately can give me problems ... and I'm not sure if it will be convenient to leave some rice night again, or else leave it at that ... such.
My humidity sensor remains red, but I was told that was not going to go. Well, that's not important.

You advise me to put it back in rice? if there has been some moisture ... at the speaker, I mean ... he's still just a little wet out there.

Thanks to those who advise me. :)

PD) I discovered this forum and I love it.

if you do not have to use it, and you can use other, just in case I would leave a couple of days more, I repeat if you can, but it is the venture, while work ....

You can put it as many times as you want in rice if you feel calmer. But if water has entered (no matter if it is a second or nano) always have the risk of getting in trouble in the future. Rice never completely dry inside so that oxidation may occur over time. And the sensor will never be white

proceeded correctly, only that it had not been turned on.
He applied, removing the battery, SIM card and micro SD dryer for all slots of the terminal during a time, then introduce all (battery, sim card, micro sd, terminal separately), again, between rice for 2 days and then see if the sensor detects that there is moisture, if it does is that it is damaged, all this should be dry, realize that to be working with it it generates heat that also favored drying.

A greeting

The humidity sensor is a simple label on contact with water releases a dye which stains the entire surface of the label.
The truth is that that label (humidity sensor) only serves to know if your smartphone has ever been wet and the Samsung Service will not validate the warranty.

The real risk is to let your smartphone without removing all the moisture because it is little can go rusting tracks, connectors and other electronic components of your smartphone until you stop working.

The only option for your smartphone does not suffer long-term damage is completely disarm the smartphone and dry each of its components using heat gun, hair dryer or any method that guarantees you that all moisture is removed from the workpiece and still there risk that any of these components already is damaged. :(

You can take it to a technician to that or pay for service of samsung but please do not trust leaving it in rice or applying heat to the dryer and less believing the smartphone to dry only, as an engineer I recommend disarm and bring it deep. :)

Luck!
