The image draws much attention. Especially when compared with the results obtained by the M8 One. Comes from the German blog Tweakers and is a thermal image of high-end smartphones running the benchmark GFXBench, where the new HTC One M9 is the most heated.

In recent weeks we have heard several complaints about Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and overheating problems. In fact this may have been one reason why some manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei (and perhaps LG) betting on its own processor.

Specifically 55 degrees celsius is the temperature at which seems to be the One M9 when running this benchmark. We assume that running other such as temperature AnTuTu will acquire will be similar.

The Dutch site says that during games temperature is around 42 degrees, when normally should be kept around 38 degrees. A small but enough difference to feed back doubts about promising new Qualcomm processor that is not having a good start.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 is a brown beast, a 64-bit hardware capable of throwing scores above almost all current devices. However the Qualcomm chip chosen for the first half of 2015 is having problems, maybe it's this that some devices have been delayed, Z4 Xperia case could go directly to a Snapdragon 820.

Normally smartphones heat when running benchmarks but exceed 50ยบ is striking to say the least. In principle HTC has promised an upgrade to improve performance (and camera) which should substantially reduce this data. For our part we remain skeptical of this information. In our analysis we look closely at these problems and will communicate if finally the final version corrects or remain there.
