Replacing the sleep button iPhone 5

I bought an iPhone 5 in October 2012 which, entering the serial number on the website of Apple corresponds to units as they could cause problems with the sleep button, and it has.
About a week ago who went crazy button fully and I'm living through the Assistive Touch. The point is that by meeting the requirements for requesting the replacement of the button for free, through the program of replacing the mark, I do not meet a requirement that is in the last line of the information page of this program is that you can apply if it is within two years from the purchase of the terminal, which in my case already past.
Does anyone know if they are covering substitutions beyond the two years from the date of purchase?
It seems absurd that limitation, since being mobile themselves know they can fail, this can come at any time, someone will have passed him two months and my 2 years and 2 months ....
Should not I cover him free, what is the replacement cost of the button?
Thank You

Thanks for responding, but I think the problem with the sleep button is different from the Home button, and tried some home methods and jajaj.

What happens is that after that time it is common for problems to appear that both the lock button like Home to stop working ... It is common and the parts are cheap and easy to find how complicated labor, find who knows how to make the change without damaging the terminal.
