If you have problems in Mac OS X or with your hard drive, repair disk permissions can solve many problems. It's a good idea to run this repair regularly to maintain optimal system operation. Before starting make sure these processes have closed the background applications since they can interfere with the repair operations.

Repair Disk Permissions

Most Mac OS X users do not modify the privileges intentionally and only need to restart the permissions to their default values. The option to Repair Disk Permissions is included Disk Utility:

  • Open the Applications folder, then the Utilities folder
  • Run Disk Utility
  • Select the hard drive where the game is installed
  • Choose the option to First Aid
  • Click Repair Disk Permissions

Repair Disk

Repair disk check and solve the problems in the hard disk volume or folder. This includes errors and corrupt sections sectors on the disk. There are two methods to repair a disc. Starts in Safe Mode before opening Disk Utility.

Starts in Safe Mode

  1. Starts in Safe Mode .
  2. When the system boots completely, restart the computer in normal mode.

If the computer restarts successfully do not need any additional steps. If the problem persists try to run Disk Utility.

Run Disk Utility

  1. Start the Mac from your disk Install Mac OS X: Enter the installation disk, then restart the computer while holding the C key. (Lion users should hold down the Command + R key until the recovery partition is displayed.)
  2. When your computer finishes booting, choose the option Disk Utility Installation menu. (In OS X 10.5 and 10.6 you must choose your language above). Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the installer. If you do have to restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
  3. Click the First Aid tab.
  4. Click the triangle to the left of the hard to show available disk volumes and partitions.
  5. Choose your partition Mac OS X
  6. Click Repair

If any error message in the log after Disk Utility to repair the disk, please contact the Apple Assistance to help you.
