Both teams have very similar characteristics, among these 2 I would recommend the samsung for its few advantages vs the xiaomi: a little better the battery (3500 mah vs 3400 mah), xiaomi does not have a microsd slot, better front camera (8mp vs 5mp) and better screen resolution (1440 x 2960 529 ppi vs 1080 x 2160 403 ppi)
