Hello ,

Try opening the Phone application and typing * # 0 * # after which you should open a test screen. Search for the Sub Key option, click on it and there it tests whether the Home button is working. When pressed the screen should turn a blue color, and if you press the other keys "Back" should be put another color. That may help, otherwise it could be the Hardware.
