I think my nexus 7 purchased at Christmas has a problem (or so it seems to me) thing is that I discovered that when I put it on a flat surface touchscreen does not respond well, but take care when in the hand example, runs correctly. I realized one day to use the application "multitouch test". When the tablet is in a table for example, and begin to move your fingers across the screen there are areas in which I can not find the finger after a while (as if to put the tablet on the table that will create some blind spots in the touch) screen, but when used in the hand or holding it horizontally or vertically on the table works well. Anyone else would have happened? Or know it could be happening with the touch screen?

Well I think it's normal time ago I read that sometimes depending on the device and the surface where miss stops working properly supported touchscreen. On my Nexus One with me going, if I let up a pillow almost did not answer, and it also led me when I was carrying a Chinese magazine, which was not going very well screen.

Try it on another type of surface to see if it still gives the error.

the Chinese magazine I have read that crosses the irregular amperage, or little, or something like that to me in the S2 I spend too, was supposed to be the phone that activates a safety mechanism to not petar a diving xD

Pd: the screen ... I would change, at least my nexus 7 does not suffer from this evil and man, does not matter right now, but the day you want to support it and use it can be a problem.

It has stopped happening since I went into developer tools & turned on the 2 setting for touch input: show touches/taps & pointer location. I kept them on for about an hour. Then rebooted. When I turned it back on & deselected those options it hasn't happened since. Not sure why it would stop after doing those 2 options, but it has.

At least in my case, the issue is firmware. I have a stock (rooted) N7. It got consistently worse about not registering my touches until it had to be rebooted after a couple hours of use.
Since it is rooted, I tried the following steps two days ago and it has not failed me since:
1. I used the Titanium Backup to assure that all my apps and settings were backed up properly. Anything is possible when you start mucking about with the system so you want to be able to get back to where you were, if something crashes your device.
2. I used ROM Toolbox (Lite) to disable a lot of the apps that were autoloading on bootup. This does not disable the app – only stops it from starting automatically when you boot and then remaining in the background. It does not hinder the normal operation of the app.
3. I used ROM Toolbox to reboot into TWRP (recovery) and wiped the Cache & Dalvik. I also “Fixed Permissions.” If you have not already done so, this would be a good time to BACKUP your entire system using TWRP. Backups at the recovery level are often called “Nandroid backups.”
4. Then, I rebooted the system back into normal operation.
