Hi, good morning.

I installed on a laptop windows 8.1 and I noticed that at some not used (seconds) as if the keyboard stops working (if I have Caps Lock or Num Lock active, the lights go out) but when press any key "reactive" keyboard (new lights that have active light). This has taken a lot of trouble because if I stop using it for a few seconds to be disabled, the first beat I make is so that the keyboard is reactivated and I've eaten more than one point having to review it later.
To say that this happens in another laptop that also I have with windows 8.1 and previously had windows 7 installed on both without showing this problem.
I've checked in the device manager, both the keyboard and the usb ports (keyboard has this connection), power plans in windows and seeing nothing other sites referred to them.

I noticed that if I remove the keyboard and use the laptop itself, behaves in the same way, so I dismiss keyboard problem itself.

Anyone know how to disable this feature?

a greeting

Hello, welcome
The external keyboard will say USB and older, in most laptops the keyboard will an internal USB.
In Windows 8.1 go to "power options" and that will show your current plan. Click on "Change plan settings" >> "change advanced power settings" >> and in the new window expand "USB settings" to fit your purposes.
