Sony Xperia S - Problem with Sync Gmail Contact

Hi everyone!

I have to say that I have previously found a thread related to this, but in which no one gave a solution that worked.

I have a Sony Xperia S. When synchronizing my accounts (Skype, facebook, twitter, etc) I find no problem, except in the case of Google. Not that I do not generally synchronize all away from me Google sync (calendar, application data, picasa, etc) except in the case of contacts. TIMING IS HAVING PROBLEMS: When I try to enable synchronization of contacts a sign on the bottom that tells me arises. IN BRIEF will resume, but this never happens, however hard they try to stop.

Please can anyone help? I need to sync them to keep, thank you very much to everyone in advance!

Hello. First you step explanation of how to synchronize contacts so you can see if you've made a mistake. Secondly I mention some tips to resolve errors.

Instructions to sync your contacts with your device:

Open the Settings application on your device.
Select Mail, Contacts, Calendar.
Select Add Account ...
Select Other.
Select Add CardDAV account.
Write the details of your account in the following fields:
Server: type "google.com".
User: enter your full email address of your Google Account or Google Apps.
Password: Enter the password for your Google Account or Google Apps. (If you've enabled two-step verification, you have to create and introduce a specific application password).
Description: Write a description of the account ("Personal Contacts", for ex.).
Select Next (at the top of the screen).
Check the "Contacts" is checked.
When you finish the settings, open the Contacts application on your device and synchronization will start automatically.

If you have any problems, do the following:

Open CardDAV account you created in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendar, in the "Accounts" section. Confirm that the account is enabled.
If the account is activated, select Advanced at the bottom of the page and verify that the Use SSL option is enabled.
If you've changed something, click the Done (in the upper right of the screen settings on your account) to save changes button.
If you are still having difficulty syncing your contacts with CardDAV, log in to your Google account on the web. You may receive a message because it is a "Start Location unusual session."

I hope this information will help you.

A greeting!

Hi osky. Thank you for taking your time to answer. Everything is very well explained and clear, but the problem is that I do not know if being a Xperia S and have a different menu or something, when I put the settings menu can not find the 'Mail, Contacts, Calendar. When I access the 'Accounts and sibcronización' does not leave me these options, just leave me the different services I use (facebook, twitter, google, etc)
Here attached a couple of pictures ara you see it, thank you very much again!

In my gmail account I get that is synchronized manually. I searched and found where active. The way to activate it was:

Step 1 of 5: Welcome (Next)
Step 2 of 5: Internet connection (Next)
Step 3 of 5: Wifi (Next)
Step 4 of 5: Accounts ENABLE AUTO SYNC (next)
Step 5 of 5: You're ready (Finish)
Hope you work.

FINAL SOLUTION !!

The first thing is that I had rooted the phone (Because more data and try to erase all the remedies of the network does not work at all).

Until I found this:

- You install PC Companion on your PC.
- Looking SUPPORT ZONE option and update software.
- Still the instructions ask you to connect your phone to PC. Follow them step by step.
- I will tell you that you already have the latest available software.
- You select repair (or install, which appears te) anyway. You will notice that you will lose everything that bring installed, so if you want you can make a backup with MyBackup (available on the free market) before the whole process.
- Let me finish the whole process. When finished it will tell you to disconnect the phone from the PC and turn on the phone. It takes quite the first time, do not worry.

With these simple steps the phone back to factory TOTALLY, and no longer gives problems with synchronization.
