The manufacturer specializing in memory, Apacer, presented a storage solution that allows SSD M.2 insert a CompactFlash card or a RAM module.
The solution is especially useful in format mini-ITX motherboard where size is reduced, allowing SSD M.2 include full-size and increasing storage capacity allowed by the format so far.
These SSD M.2 would be connected to the SATA interface while energy would get the same RAM module where they are inserted.
This combo is called as SDIMM sampling phase and besides SSD also allows use CompactFlash cards. Apacer works mainly with OEMs and they will be the first to receive the product.
We do not know when this curious solution focuses PCs Apacer addition, the embedded market, a growing sector with the massive expansion of the "Internet of things" will be sold in the retail market.
