You can create a backup on a USB flash drive to reinstall Windows 8 on your system. You can use this unit to reinstall Windows or diagnose problems if Windows fails to start. You will need a USB drive 16 GB or higher.

CAUTION

The following steps will remove all the contents from your USB flash drive.
You must disable the power management settings before creating your backup drive.
SOLUTION

Follow these instructions to create your backup drive:

Press the Windows key (Image: icon_Windows8_key.png) + Q.
Key Recovery and click on Acer Recovery Management.
Click Create Factory Default Backup (backup Create factory default values).
Select Copy from the recovery partition content to the recovery drive (Copy the contents of the recovery partition in the recovery drive) and click Next (Next).
Select your USB flash drive from the list and click Next (Next).
Click Create (Create). When you are prompted for confirmation to delete the recovery partition on your computer, click No.
