Hi there.
I just bought a lenovo ideapad y510p SLI comes with 2 cards in sli geforce 750m, plus the intel graphics.
The issue is that I have tried by various means to operate the graphical environment with different distros.
I've been looking and really there is not much information on successful functioning of linux on this laptop.

What I have tried is:
1.-nouveau, which does not recognize the card, which throws multiple errors and when launching slim or startx tells me that the nvidia module failure.
2. nvidia drivers, nvidia-304xx (information taken from the wiki) that when starting the the x tells me not find the screen.
3.-beta nvidia drivers from yaourt (info from wiki too), but that has not even been installed.
4. try to install the downloaded directly from the nvidia page, which is the 319.60 but even accomplished driver installed. From what I have read this is the best option as it comes with the option to deactivate or activate cards, plus bug fixes, but at this point I'm content with any option that allows me to have the X and work with CUDA.
The last thing recorded in the installation log is:
NVIDIA: left kbuild.
nvidia.ko failed to build!
makefile: 267 recipe for target 'module' failed
make [1]: *** [module] Error 1
Makefile: 60: recipe for target 'module' failed
make: *** [module] Error 2

* when I had the nvidia drivers I've tried nvidia-xconfig to no avail, I have tried to edit the xorg by hand without results and nvidia-settings option even runs.
I have also tried ** X-config option and has the same bad results.

I hope someone can help me, give some idea.
In advance thank you very much.

You have to focus on hybrid systems in your case when nvidia / intel cards have an optimus. Search on Bumblebee
Here is a guide to the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bu ... B1ol% C3% 29
I have these but look at this forum thread l with the same problem:
viewtopic.php? f = 4 & t = 7285
I add:
I remember that you can also look in the bios if you have option to disable a graph, as you do not have a pc discuss these features, but do you remember seeing.
luck.
