Lubuntu, where is my wifi? how to fix no wifi problem on lubuntu

The service is running, the configuration file is fine, we just have a bug, as I see it is what it is: wall:

Removes wicd and the solution is quite simple, just like manually configure the network-manager applet so that it starts with the environment

From the lxde menu >> Preferences >> default applications for LXSession
In the boot tab you add a new application that calls the start nm-applet.

The only thing left is to restart the setting and see if it works.
And there would be a sticky and it would be part of the configuration of the user, if more users or create some new ones, also suffer the bug and have to repeat the process each with their own.

Hi all / as.

I installed (and updated) lubuntu 14.04 on a friend's laptop, lg x120 and I'm having some problems with the wifi. Wired works fine.
Directly or I get the wifi icon, I guess I did not detect it. I try linux mint, for example, and runs smoothly. It has the RTL8187SE chip if not mistaken.

To say that I have little time trying lubuntu, ubuntu, mint and others and I am a little green. : confused:

Any help? Thank you!

I think in * buntu package with drivers for most wireless cards firmware-linux is, so open the terminal and type:

sudo apt-get install firmware-linux

Thanks for responding so quickly. : D

He says something like "firmware-linux package is unavailable" "The" firmware-linux 'package has no installation candidate "For what does nothing.

Being the same basis, I would point to a problem with the network administrator. Or a bug that would not be unusual: sweat:

Check that effectively network-manager is running.
Watch it in the / etc / network / interfaces the network card is not configured (so the administrator can manage)
And if not you can also try instalndo another administrator as may be wicd

Effectively works with wicd. If it were not for my problems would leave it but the owner is quite malilla and will not understand. xD

The network-manager process is running, yes. Regarding the file put this:
