Update my iphone 4 and stayed in recovery mode How do I remove it?

Try to let down the power button and the home for about 10 seconds and force a restart. 

If it still goes back to recovery mode, you might have iCloud backup (if not on the computer) the last time the mobile computer (or wifi to iCloud) can log into.
