Problem updating bios.

Question

Hi I am trying to update the BIOS of an Acer Predator G3610 series, but when trying to upgrade from Windows 8.1 I get the following message? Error? "rom file size does not match bios Existing size" and the window closes and nothing happens. 

 

Does anyone knows what could happen? 

 

PS: I also tried from DOS and I have the same problem.

If I remember correctly in the bios update acer is an exe you run well and is a jilipoll ... but you've given administrator rights? especially with windows 8 (you know run as administrator) 

 

This damn windows (8 and 8.1) are programs that hang a priori seem to work though so, if you gave former administrator privileges and the program did not work and now this ..... but a "little pearl" over microsoft. .... 

 

On the other hand if everything works well and I have no faults or know if there is a very substantial improvement in the new bios do not recommend you urgues and more if you are with those errors

Thanks for your answer. It is a bat file., I have tried has run as administrator but the cmd opens and closes in less than 1sg. 

 

I wanted to update the bios because I'm thinking to put a current source pc and graphics, and I have this fear that then I do not recognize the graphics and font.

Do not worry 

 

The graphics and add a new feed source has nothing to do with the bios will recognize it .... my advice is to not touch it and let it be riding the new graphics and font that will not give you problems 

 

The board has a battery that keeps your bios settings so you should not worry about changing the font 

 

If for some reason the bios is corrupted you can stay forever without motherboard with all that entails, updating the bios is a sensitive issue that is only recommended when there is a problem that is solved with this 

 

Dejala and install the rest so no problem and if you have any questions that we ask for here a lot to help where possible

will not have to do the update from the bios itself? in current plates that I've played, you can do from there, you put the file on a USB flash drive and ready .... but as you said you rtc, better not touch it if it is not really necessary, changing graphics and font should not affect anything

Ok, better not touch it will be the bundle, if it goes well better stay that way.
