As with any Android-based device, the Sony Xperia Z5 can also be reset in recovery mode. However, being a new device, the Xperia Z5 comes with another configuration, completely different when compared to other smartphones Xperia or other Android phones. Recovery software is hidden by default in the Xperia Z5 therefore can not access it through the classic menu.

In case anyone still does not know, the recovery menu can be used on upgrades (with OTAs only) or problem solving (with hardware reset can be arranged easily related software different topics). Reboot into recovery mode is an official procedure, which means you will not lose the device warranty if you decide to do. You must be aware that it is possible that when making this process lose all your personal data, information and accounts. Therefore, it is important that previously perform a backup and you restore the applications you have installed to save future trouble.

It is also essential that before getting down to work you check the battery status. It is very important that plugs the device to the charger if the percentage is less than 50 percent. If your Xperia Z5 is turned off while doing the recovery mode, you could have serious problems with the device. It is therefore quite important that you consider this step. Another way to enter recovery mode in your Xperia Z5 is using some ADB commands. Therefore, the first thing you have to do is learn how to install the Android SDK on Windows or how to configure MAC OS X ADB / Linux. Once you do just perform the following steps:

  • Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable
  • Your phone must be switched
  • Access to your computer to the Android SDK folder
  • From here opens a command prompt window (hold down the Shift key while you click the right mouse button on any blank)
  • In the window cmd writes: "adb reboot recovery"
  • Now the Sony Xperia Z5 should automatically reboot into recovery mode.

method 3
Another way to run the recovery mode is to use an application called Quick Boot (You can find it on Google Play). Install it and run it on the phone. Then just follow the signs that will appear on the screen.
