The error code 0x800CCC0E occurs when Outlook can not connect to your SMTP server. And as we have many emails asking us for help on Error 0x800CCC0E , we will talk about it.

The following are the reasons that may be behind the Error number 0x800CCC0E :

1. Too low Internet

While this may be obvious , simply use the web browser to see if you can visit your favorite website ( be sure to clear the cache, since some browsers tend to display a locally stored version of their websites frequently visited ) . And if you have configured the same email on another computer or a different network make sure you are not getting the error 0x800CCC0E them.

2. Configuring Outlook address

There is always the possibility that the Outlook is misconfigured , a common mistake is to put the POP3 server in the outgoing server when it should be SMTP, this causes an 0x800CCC0E error occurs because Outlook can not connect to your outgoing mail server and be sure to check that you are using the correct email address settings .

3 . Firewalls

Some firewalls ( Firewalls ) block outgoing SMTP connections by default until you configure to allow such connections pass . Try disabling the firewall and find that that was the problem , configure the options to enable SMTP outbound connection .

4. Internet provider (ISP ) has blocked SMTP port 25

A common reason is Error Number 0x800CCC0E that your ISP is blocking access to port 25 SMTP out , this is usually done to prevent users from sending unsolicited emails ( SPAM). Port 25 is the default port used for sending e-mail messages on the Internet. Blocking this port also prevents normal users like you send legitimate emails . Check if your ISP is blocking outgoing SMTP port 25 by sending your emails through SMTP2Go , which is an email service that allows connections to 4 different ports (25, 2525, 8025 and 587 ) , you can check here (there is a free trial ) .

5 . Fault DNS

DNS is what makes names like smtp.server.com numbers as 66.249.95.255 , also known as IP address, the IP address is what your computer uses to connect to SMTP server when the DNS is not working properly , this conversion can not succeed and therefore reaches an Error 0x800CCC0E . Make sure that your DNS is configured properly and your SMTP server is resolving to the correct IP address.

6. Server latency or packet loss

These problems tend to be temporary and occur at random intervals, if you notice recurring connection problems while you're surfing the web or checking for new mail, then it is possible that this is causing the problem . For internet problems can also come in the form of " packet loss " or latency very high , ie , some requests output ( called packets ) that are sent to the target server has been dropped or suffer considerable delay due to problems in the Internet path between your computer and the destination server .

7. Fallen SMTP Server

If this happens, you would not be the only one who would have the problem. All who are using the same SMTP server would also be getting the same error ( or a variation of the error, depending on the mail client you are using ) , these problems tend to be rapidly solved by the service provider , and the most cases downtime inform in advance the occurrence . This is by far the least likely causes error 0x800CCC0E but also had to list it .
