IMPORTANT: Before starting this procedure, make sure the AC adapter is connected to the tablet charging connector and plugged into a wall outlet that works.image

NOTES:

  • When the AC adapter is plugged into a wall outlet and connected to the charging connector of the tablet, the tablet indicator (between the volume (+) and the power button) must be illuminated. If not, confirm that the tablet and the AC adapter are connected properly and that the outlet is working. After confirm, if the indicator still does not light tablet, the AC adapter may need to be replaced.
  • Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this problem, check status of the tablet after completing each step.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. image

NOTE:   If the tablet is turned on, you can use it normally. If not lit, proceed to step no. 2.

  • Perform the reset procedure using the end of a paper clip (or similar object size) and gently press the Reset .image

NOTE:   A red LED blinks twice to indicate that successfully pressed the reset button. If not, repeat the procedure soft reset until you see the LED light blink twice.

At this point, if the tablet does not turn on or is still frozen or unresponsive, you will need to follow these steps to initiate a procedure forced External Data Reset .

IMPORTANT: Unfortunately, because the tablet is being restored to the condition it was in when it was bought, all data and settings are removed from the tablet.

  1. Press and hold the Power (On) .image

    IMPORTANT:

    • If the box appears Power off (Off) , touch OK (OK) .image
    • The tablet can not be in standby and successfully perform this operation. You must be completely off.
  2. With the tablet completely off, press and hold the button Volume Up (+) , and while pressing the button, press and hold the button Power for a few seconds.image
  3. Once the logo of Sony appears, release both buttons.

IMPORTANT: If at this point the tablet is normally on and displays the Home screen on your desktop, you will not need to go further. If the tablet is not normally turned on, turn off the tablet completely and continue with this procedure.

  4. With the tablet completely off, press and hold the button Volume Up (+) , and while pressing the button, press and hold the button Power for a few seconds.image
  5. This time, once the logo appears Sony release the power button Power but continue to hold the button Volume Up (+) until the display screen Android system recovery .
  6. Once the screen appears Android system recovery , release the Volume Up (+) .
  7. On the screen Android system recovery , use the button Volume Down (-) to select Reset to factory settings (Reset to factory settings) .image
  8. Quickly press Power .
  9. In Idle Reset to factory settings (Reset to factory settings): Confirm reset (Confirm reset) , use the button Volume Down (-) to select Yes - delete all user data (Yes --eliminar all data) .image
  10. Quickly press Power .

The steps to solve the problems mentioned above should resolve their situation. If you have completed all the steps and the issue is not resolved, it will probably be necessary to send the unit to service. Find a repair center for your Sony product.
