How to fix Galaxy Note 20 issue that keeps losing Wi-Fi signal after update

Network problems can happen from time to time, but they are often due to minor problems with your router. Some Note 20 owners have experienced Wi-Fi connection issues after the Android 11 update. If you are one of them, try troubleshooting your device.

First solution: Restart your devices

It is possible that this problem is just caused by a minor issue with your network device or phone. So the first thing to do is to refresh their memory by restarting them. Here's how:

  1. Unplug your router's power cord from the power outlet, or simply unplug the cord from the main unit.
  2. Leave it without power for a minute or two.
  3. While you wait, press and hold the power key and the volume down button on your Note 20. This will trigger the device to shut down and then power back on.
  4. Once the logo is displayed, release both keys and let the device complete the boot process.
  5. Now plug the power cord back into the wall outlet or plug it back into the main unit.
  6. Wait for your router to start broadcasting the signal and let your Note 20 reconnect to it.

After that, observe your phone to see if it still loses its Wi-Fi signal.

Second solution: Reset all network settings

If possible, try to see if your other phones have the same problem as your Note 20 because if not, the problem may be with network services. So the next thing to do is to reset all settings on your device. Here's how:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Scroll down, then tap Global management.
  3. Tap Reset, then Reset Network Settings.
  4. Tap the Reset Settings button, and if needed, enter your screen lock.
  5. Now tap on the Reset button to reset network settings on your Galaxy Note 20.

After doing this, try to see if the problem is fixed.

Third solution: Factory reset your phone

If the first two solutions failed then the next thing to do is to hard reset your phone. A factory reset will fix network-related issues, including this one. But make sure to backup your important files and data as they will be erased .

Once you're ready, follow these steps to reset your Note 20:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Scroll down, then tap Global management.
  3. Tap Reset, then tap Factory data reset.
  4. Scroll down, then tap the Reset button.
  5. If prompted, enter your screen lock.
  6. Tap Delete All.
  7. Enter your password, then tap Done when you're done.

After the reset, set up your Note 20 as a new device. If the problem persists, it's time to call your service provider and have your router checked.

Here's what you should do if your Galaxy Note 20 keeps losing signal after an update. We hope we were able to help you.
