Step # 1 Open Google Chrome on your laptop and go to https://www.gmail.com in the search bar.
If you are already logged into your Gmail account, you will see your inbox. But if not, you will have to enter your email address and password when asked to open your inbox.
Step # 2 Click on Settings, which is located in the upper right corner of your screen. It is indicated by a gear icon. A drop-down menu will then open.
Step # 3 Select See all settings.
step # 4 You will see options in the tab Generalin the top menu by default, which is exactly what we need.
Scroll down to the field of Desktop Notifications. This will be towards the middle of the configuration page.
Step # 5 You will see a link Click here to enable Gmail desktop notifications, along with three other options. These include
- New mail notifications activated : You will receive notifications every time you receive a new message in the inbox or in the main tab.
- Important email notifications activated : You will receive notifications only when an important message that you have marked with a star reaches your inbox.
- Email notifications disabled : This is the default setting that we want to change.
- Let's go to step 6. (DON'T forget to click on Permitirnotifications)
Step # 6 Once you have checked the settings to your liking, all that is left to do is save the settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the option Save changes.
And that's it. You will receive a desktop notification each time your browser is open and when you receive an email that matches the selected criteria.
However, there are a few additional things to keep in mind.
First of all, verification notifications are turned on by default . If you want to disable them, you will have to do it manually.
Second, after enabling notifications, make sure to approve mail.google.com to show desktop notifications . Finally, you must be logged into Gmail in one of your windows to receive desktop notifications.
