This error sometimes appears when attempting to restore or update from iTunes, not leaving making process.

Instructions to avoid the error 1 on iTunes

1. Turn off the iPhone.
2.  switch on your PC (if the iPhone is turned on or open iTunes it's back to switch off and close iTunes).
3.  Press the Home button and the Sleep button for exactly 10 seconds (it is advisable to use a stopwatch).
4. Once past the 10 seconds release the Power button (top) and keep pressing the Home button (below) for another 10 seconds.
5. iTunes will open and detect iPhone in Restore Mode.
6.  We should now be able to restore or update without problem

I use the method
With the iPhone off and open iTunes press the Home button and plug the iPhone to the computer.
In less than 3 seconds you're in recovery mode.
