A very interesting possibility that we see in Android is to change the default keyboard. We have installed many keyboards and switch between them in a very simple way that we are going to explain here. We have already made a recommendation once, but always confident enough in Swiftkey and Swype.
As always in Android we have different ways of doing things and even if we vary between versions. We will try to give a universal explanation but there may be some change if we are using the customization of a manufacturer.
Enabled keyboards
The first thing we have to do to select a keyboard other than install it from Google Play, is active. To do this, go to Settings and Language & input. There we can see a list of all our keyboards available and must be pressed to activate the checkbox next to the name of the keyboard. It is normal for us a security warning, because if we install a malicious keyboard could send all your keystrokes to a server.
After doing this and you can select the keyboard you want to use. It is useful to know that keyboards have advanced settings that can be viewed by pressing the adjustments to the right of the name of the keyboard.
As I say there may be changes between versions of Android but usually small. Normally this part is quite common toads Android versions and customizations manufacturers.
Select the default keyboard
The second part is to select the keyboard you want to use, which appears by default when we place ourselves in a box in which you can write. So we distinguish two stages, before and after Android 4.0 Android 4.0.
Before Android 4.0 you had to press a long time in the text box and showed us the list of keyboards that have activated and which we can select. This was not very intuitive in the eyes of Google, so they changed it in Android 4.0.
From this version when we are in a site that lets you write, apart from appearing on-screen keyboard appears to us in the notification bar the name of the keyboard. If we click on it the list of active keyboards appears so we can change it.
