Facebook App "can't connect" try again

Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy 5S and have had no problem until these recent updates. Ugh!  Most recently on my facebook app, I get the following error:  "Can't connect" tap and retry.   I am on 4G and/or wifi.   I have tried reinstalling the app with no help. Cleared data and cache with no help.  Any other suggestions?   So frustrating.

this is a temporary problem with the server update facebook then be made to remove these problems will be solved the problem and try again

This is a problem with your mobile settings .
How to solved it
1 go to your mobile settings
2 data usage  
3 find out Facebook app tab it and scroll down
4 unchecked the restrack background data useage
work 100%

Didn't work. The box was already unticked. Oneplus one. Only had this issue recently so must be a Facebook app update.
