The blue screen, also known as the blue screen of death or BSOD happens when a computer encounters a serious error and it crashes. This occurs when the computer files and programs that are not compatible with each other, that the computer is turned off to prevent further damage. By default, computers automatically restart after a BSOD. While you have no way to take a screenshot of the BSOD from the computer to make yourself, you can take a screen shot with a digital camera. Click "Start" and right-click "Computer".

Click "Properties" and select "Advanced system settings" in the left pane.

Click "Startup and Recovery" in "Settings".

Click to "Automatically restart" remove the check mark next to the "System Failure" section.

Click "OK" to apply the setting. This causes Windows to prevent automatic restart after a bluescreen.

Take a picture of BSOD with a digital camera with at least 5 megapixels and 4x optical zoom. Take the picture in a well lit room without using a flash. Set the zoom as necessary to prevent the reflection of the computer screen.
