If ever happens to you when you open Chrome jumps a sign that says "Unable to successfully open your profile" happens you're facing a problem in your user profile that does not allow you to open your favorite browser and extensions.

To fix should follow some steps that will explain in the post. They are simple instructions and allow you to open Chrome quietly with a new user profile (yes, you must install the extensions again and again save your favorite)

The first thing you have to do to create a new user profile in Chrome, the browser is closed. Then you must go to "Start - Run" and insert one of the following codes and give "Enter".

For Windows XP:% USERPROFILE% \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Google \ Chrome \ User Data \

For Vista and 7:% LOCALAPPDATA% \ Google \ Chrome \ User Data \

Now a window where you have to look for the "Default" folder, you must rename to "Backup Default" will open. To solve the problem and have created a new profile simply open Chrome.

Could you solve it?

Hello everyone,

To all who have problems with the profile, look completely uninstall software that may cause discrepancies with Google Chrome. In addition, you should try incognito to see if it works well or create a new browser user profile.

For Windows:

  1. Google Chrome completely salt.
  2. Use the key combination  Windows key  image + E  to open Windows Explorer.
  3. In the Windows Explorer window that appears, enter the following into the address bar:
    • Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\
    • Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\
  4. Find a folder called "Default" in the directory window that appears and rename it as "Backup Default."
  5. Try opening Google Chrome again. Once you start using the browser, a new folder "Default" will be created automatically.

If you want, you can transfer information from your old user profile again. However,  we recommend that you do not do it , because part of your old profile may be corrupted. If you still want to transfer your old bookmarks, copy the "Bookmarks.bak" file from the "Backup default" folder in the new folder "Default". Once you've moved, replaces the file name "Bookmarks.bak" to "Bookmarks" to complete the migration process. All other browser data will remain in the "Backup default" folder, but you can not transfer it to your new profile.

for Mac

  1. Google Chrome completely salt.
  2. Access the  menu Go> Go to Folder .
  3. Enter one of the following directories in the text field and then click  Go :

    ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/

  4. Find a folder called "Default" in the directory window that appears and rename it as "Backup Default."
  5. Try opening Google Chrome again. Once you start using the browser, a new folder "Default" will be created automatically.

    ~ / .config / Google-chrome /
